The Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston hosted its Annual Golf Outing Fundraiser earlier this week at the Pinehills Golf Club located in Plymouth, MA. The annual event was initially scheduled to take place in early June, but was pushed back to September 30th due to COVID-19 precautions.
In a normal year, the golf outing fundraiser is coupled with a networking dinner and auction held at the conclusion of the the golf outing. However, due to coronavirus pandemic guidelines, the networking dinner was cancelled. Instead, golfers received an on course lunch and were welcomed to stay for drinks and socialize after the golf outing on the outdoor terrace.
Threatened by overcast and rainy conditions earlier in the morning, golfers enjoyed clear skies and cooler temperatures hovering in the 70s once the event started. For many, this was the first in-person event attended so far this year. BRAGB's Remodeler's Council is in the process of coordinating multiple smaller in-person networking event's throughout Greater Boston which will allow for networking amongst associate and builder members. A portion of the funds received from the event support the Careers in Construction Program operated by BRAGB. Careers in Construction is a workforce development program designed to help Massachusetts based traditional high schools launch trades programs. The program either facilitates or directly supports finding the funds, acquiring the tools, sourcing the materials, and attaining the curriculum for high school administrators and students who are interested in a trades career.
